A fun children's book, which educates children about American history.

Mrs.D.'s thoughts…

Trying to introduce history to a young child can be tough, but not for this talented team. Barbara Mojica, a wonderful writer and history educator, and her husband, a creative and outstanding artist, Victor Mojica, did a terrific job in their new children’s book, Little Miss HISTORY Travels to INTREPID Sea, Air & Space Museum. By combining a strong visual content with a good story, they again showed young readers important events from American history that educate and entertain at the same time. Combining photography with art, Victor Mojica takes children onto the battleship, where they can clearly envision what it might be like to live on the ship during war and what its legacy means for us.

Each page is full of history that leads to discovering even more about this significant American landmark. The facts about this legendary battleship are fascinating, especially the information about its captain, who spent his own fortune to make it a museum, so generation after generation could learn about its heroic legacy and honor the heroes who fought for our freedom.

In addition, this book is an excellent tool to augment children’s education. A child can pick it up and find out a little, or sit down and peruse it for hours. The authors presented great events in a manner that will capture young minds and captivate their imagination from the beginning. This book is a superb vehicle for providing important knowledge that will pique the reader's exploration of a subject in greater depth. It definitely has a place as both a reference book and a good browsing book.

In their history series, Barbara and Victor Mojica have done a masterful job of selecting and summarizing historical, anthropological, and cultural aspects that continue to influence American culture until this day. The artwork in their books provides a visual feast for the eyes. Colors are vivid and enhance the book's appeal. Authors have not "dumbed down” the history material either. Their “Little Miss History” provides plenty of information and facts about the history of important events, people, and landmarks.

Little Miss HISTORY Travels to INTREPID Sea, Air & Space Museum is the “must-have book” for parents who have kids in school, teachers and educators, or for anyone who loves or has any interest in history. It provides a good starting point from which any child can explore the legendary American landmarks. This book would make an excellent addition to a family library or be a great gift for a young reader. Most importantly, it is fun to read and learn about historical events that are beautifully highlighted throughout the book.

No passport is necessary to explore this series. They’re exceptional children’s books, specially created for your little ones to learn about the American heritage!

Once again, Little Miss History takes readers on an exciting voyage through time!
