Between You and Me:Great Lessons to Learn

It was my pleasure to review both books written by Susie Caron.
They carry wonderful messages and life lessons we all need.

Her  children's  books are beautifully written and have so much to offer.

Biography

Susie E. Caron, private practice psychotherapist, speaker and author of Twee ', developed her "Between You and Me" series through years of experience working with children and families. Susie taught elementary school and adult education. She also owned and instructed in horsemanship and riding school. Susie closed the school when Fibromyalgia interrupted her work. Undaunted, she returned to graduate school to fulfill an earlier dream. In 2002 Susie began career as a psychotherapist treating children and families in northwestern Vermont.
Susie's writing began in early childhood and continued throughout her life. However, multiple life events, which included a late diagnosis of Rheumatoid Arthritis, put off her publishing debut. In 2013 Susie released her first book, the allegory, Twee ', in picture book format. Susie states, "A well illustrated allegory offers numerous interpretations for all ages." She adds, "In all my work, I seek to create awareness about the need for relationship and emotional well being, because how well we know ourselves determines the way we relate to others and to our purpose." Susie is happily married and lives in Vermont with her husband, two riding horses and one affectionate, bouncy boxer.

Book 1: Twee

An inspiring, instructional story about a little pine tree that learns a valuable life lesson: appreciate what you have today, because tomorrow may change everything. This great message for children and grown-ups is delivered through the journey of a tiny tree, sweetly named Twee. Born between rocks on the side of the mountain, the little pine has the privilege of a beautiful view of the valley, but Twee was not happy about the changing weather. The snobbish tree whined about the wind and rain, sun and snow, until one day a huge rock fell from the top of the mountain and covered its view of the beautiful valley ...

This delightful story grabs the reader's attention from the beginning and holds it to the end. Smartly the author shows the reader how important it is to appreciate the simple things in life and how easily we could lose things we take for granted. The story reminds readers of the important matters of life - quickly things can change, but no matter how bad they are, we must remain positive. There is always a way out. We must just look for the light at the end of the tunnel. Written in simple language, this story is illustrated in a pleasant and comforting style that every child would enjoy. A great story which teaches children to overcome difficulties and obstacles. A wonderful addition to any children's book collection!

Book 2: I am Twee

Another heartwarming children's book by Susie Caron.

This book is written beautifully. I confess that the 'Between You and Me' books are some of the nicest children's books I have reviewed lately. Written in sweet language, this latest book in the series teaches children about self-worth and self-acceptance.

Twee is now a grown tree, but wants to be someone else. It would like to be an apple tree, so it can have beautiful flowers, fruit flies, and happy visitors. Looking at its sticky sap, the pine tree is angry about its appearance. Twee has no visitors or friends, and no one climbs its trunk. The pine tree is unhappy and takes out her anger on her only friend, the mountain rock. One day, when a little girl and her mother spot the pine tree between the rocks, everything changes ...

Following the main character, Twee, children will learn that each living thing, including human beings, has a purpose in life and has been placed on this planet for a reason. Without preaching, the author underlines a very important lesson: the best policy in life is to stay true to yourself and be your own person. Great lesson to learn and share with others!
