Nerd Alert: Harper Voyager Will Accept Unagented Manuscripts for a  Couple Weeks

BY Chris Robley

According to a story on GalleyCat, the science fiction and fantasy imprint of HarperCollins, Harper Voyager, will be conducting an interesting experiment. For the first two weeks in October, they’ll be accepting unagented manuscripts for publication consideration.
[Sound of much rejoicing].
Here’s the link to their submission portal. Submission details are here.
And here’s a few more details from the publisher:
The manuscripts will then be read and those most suited to the global Harper Voyager list will be selected jointly by editors in the USA, UK and Australia.  Accepted submissions will benefit from the full publishing process: accepted manuscripts will be edited; and the finished titles will receive online marketing and sales support in World English markets. Voyager will be seeking an array of adult and young adult speculative fiction for digital publication, but particularly novels written in the epic fantasy, science fiction, urban fantasy, horror, dystopia and supernatural genres.
Of course, there’s no promises being made, but this does seem like an exciting opportunity for authors working in the applicable genres who have not found agent representation.
(Oh, and for anyone offended by the nerd comment—I proudly count myself amongst you!)
What do you think? Will you submit your work to Harper Voyager during this period?
Sell your book for Kindle, iPad, Nook, Kobo, and more!
